Spencer & Kristen’s Downtown McKinney Wedding in the Historic Chestnut Square

Being a part of Kristen’s weddings was a littler surreal for me. Her father was a wedding photographer for 20+ years in the Dallas area and her brother is a pastor at a church in Plano. These are 2 vocations I have been involved in, and seeing the beauty and challenges of both, I have deep respect for this family and was honored to photograph the daughter of a seasoned wedding photographer.

I knew Spencer and Kristen wouldn’t make this a boring day, for they both have fun, outgoing, and energetic personalities (as you can see from the pictures). Just like their engagement pictures, Spencer and Kristen were full of laughter and passion, and it spread to everyone who was there.

They got married right in my backyard. Well, not literally, because that would be a little awkward. But just down the road in downtown Mckinney. Just off the square is a charming little historic village called Chestnut Square (not quite as well known as the Cotton Mill or Flour Mill…but a wonderful find!) With a Victorian feel. this charming little area of Mckinney was such a neat backdrop for their wedding and the photography. I could sit under those tea lights all night long and just enjoy the atmosphere that Chestnut Square exudes.
