Rustic & Rainy wedding at Heritage Springs in Dallas

Heritage Springs wedding venue just north of Dallas has been one of those venues that Patrick & Kristyn knew was right for them. As they toured the venue (and before they even met me and began their search for a Dallas wedding photographer), they saw the waterfall that went beside the outdoor staircase and were sold. This is where they were going to have their wedding.

Well…their wedding came around last Saturday: the day we literally had flooding & tornado watches everywhere. Somehow I convinced them that the rain on the radar was going to miss us for the start of the ceremony (in the sea of opinions, I was the only one with such an idea). I still don’t know how the rain missed us. We were all fully prepared for the downpour, and this amazing couple was okay with it. So as the guests watched from a distance under the patio awaiting the rain, there I was, standing outside with my raincoat on as the sun peaked out from the clouds. They got the wedding they dreamed of and I got to be the fool standing in the sunshine with a raincoat on…and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I am so pumped they got the wedding they wanted…and it sure was a fun one!
