Richard & Whitney’s Rustic Backyard (Ranch) Wedding
When the barbecue sauce is homemade and the family has been smoking the meat for days (best wedding food you could as for), you know that the wedding isn’t just rustic for show…it was a legitimate country rustic wedding with people who wanted to kick back and enjoy the celebration. Truth be told…I wasn’t ready to leave when it was over…
Whitney has a relative who lives on a giant plot of land off the beaten path, out of the normal Dallas-Fort Worth wedding area (and over an hour drive from my McKinney studio). After Whitney’s bridal session (which I will be posting soon…but spoiler alert, it was hands down my favorite bridal session to date), I knew this wedding would be full of smiles and fun. You will see in the pictures below, but Whitney is just so fun…always laughing & smiling….making my job easy.
Whitney did not leave a stone unturned in her planning, which makes a wedding photographer super excited! The guests sat on hay bales, boots were worn by all (including the bride), and the smell of the smoked brisket and sausage enticed everyone to head over to the tables as soon as the wedding ceremony ended (or maybe they were enticed by the keg & margarita machine…I am still not sure). The reception was under a canopy of trees with string lights surrounding the dance floor. Good food, good drinks, and good company made this reception feel like old friends getting together to celebrate Richard & Whitney’s wedding.
I hope you enjoy this little preview…leave the Beck’s’ some love in the comments, and wish them the best as they embark on life after the wedding, as a family of 3!
