Photo Tip | Why you are too tall to take good pictures of your kids
Taking pictures of you kids is a moving target…literally. They are always on the move and never doing what you expect. An easy way to move your pictures from good to great is to get down on your kids level. Now, this isn’t not going to be easy for you because:
- They are running everywhere. It is easier to just snap the picture while you are standing…after all, it is hard to enough to keep up.
- It isn’t natural. When you learned to take pictures it was probably always of people about your height – in middle school you were taking pictures of your friends, when you first got married you were taking pictures of your spouse…but now there are little ones running around, and the game has changed.
So the simple tip: Squat & Snap. Get the lens on their level before you snap the picture. The results will blow you away. Below are some exaples I took of my daughter reading. Left Side = Squat & Snap, Right Side = Standing
